Sketch Dump

I thought I would put together a collection of various sketches and WIPs as a kind of reflection of what I’ve been working on in the past nine months or so. This is the result. Some of the images have a grainy-quality, which is a shame, but since I don’t currently have access to a scanner it’ll have to do. I may come back to this and give a brief explanation for each sketch.

I do enjoy drawing when I have no plan of what I’m actually going to draw. I start at one point – usually eyes, if it involves people – and then continue ‘building’ around it. There is no predetermination involved. It’s an almost mindless process. Ironically, this is usually when my productivity is at its most creative (and when the stranger things come out of my subconscious, as you can see here). I have no expectations for the piece of work: it pretty much creates itself.
